Fill water with Jerry Cans. Boil Drinking Water.

Recommended Posts

Quick suggestion a server discussed the other night.

I'd like to see jerry cans with the ability to be filled with water as well. Secondly, to be able to fill water canteens off said jerry cans multiple times. Rough example, 5 times.

Also, be able to put ocean water in a jerry can, and boil it over a fireplace. That will give you 5 bottles of fresh water in the jerry can to disperse among st water canteens.

Boiling sea water doesn't make sea water fresh, in fact it does the opposite as the water boils away the salt becomes more concentrated in the remaining water.

I remember reading about Alaskan natives who boiled salt water as they're sole source of fresh water. Though you're explanation makes sense.

I'm sure he means some kind of waterproof tarp or plastic above it to collect the freshwater vapor. Think outside the box people.

Moving my own suggestion up as humans tend to do, I agree with the message above, its clearly what I meant, no doubt at all. Works for me though ;)

What you're talking about is called desalination. It works well with a pressure cooker. Perhaps a new gadget?

I dont know, I'd never drink water out of a can that used to hold gas. Maybe I'm just a germophobe. :sleepy:

Gas is cheaper per gallon than milk. I drink it all the time
