Evidence:

At about 2:00, you can see the grass flattening as someone crawls prone to my position, but there is no player. He gets crawls right up to me, and (with volume up) you can hear his heavy breathing, yet there is no player evident.

my squad mate and I were heading towards Electro, and made it to the South side of the hill with elevation 115 (West of Electro). We hear one heavy caliber shot really close to us and we go prone. We see two players sprint out of cover and zigzag away from us. Another shot, one player drops. A few seconds and another shot. Second player drops. At this point we know the sniper is up higher on the hill than we are, and very close. We don't see anything. Squad-mate gets killed with another shot. (I start recording here) He starts to try to describe where he saw some movement and heard the shots from. I'm scanning around and see nothing. I hear someone going prone up the hill by a conifer tree where we suspect him to be hiding. I see nothing and continue to scan for him, unmoving. I hear movement and look back to see the grass flattening as if by a prone player crawling, but there is absolutely nothing there. The grass flattens up to my position and I hear the player panting. I log off.

More, but without evidence:

My squadmate has an L85 AWS and was looking at that tree. When the second player died, he said he saw the puff of smoke from a rifle firing, but saw no one, scoped in with the thermal, and still saw no one.

Same thing just happened to me, but by an m4 kind of weapon, and he stood there waiting "breathing" down our necks. Both me and my friend died.
