temporary bandaging

Recommended Posts

It gets kind of annoying when you're in the middle of a battle and you start to bleed. Your main choices are to either run and bandage, or try and take out all the zombies and then bandage. I think it would be good to add a medical item that temporarily resists bleeding for about 30 seconds, possibly like some adrenaline or something? Maybe after it runs out your blood drain is twice as quick, as you are expected to bandage shortly after doing so.

I think this is a good idea, does anybody else? It's main purpose is to be taken on the fly so that you can eliminate any remaining zombies before bandaging.

I find it hard to believe that you've not been in a situation where you get hit and begin to bleed, but there are swarms of zombies still homing in?

I have, and there's always the threat of such a situation. Luckily I always have strategic plans for combat engagements that counter the incoming numbers and give me a chance to recuperate and refocus.

The fact that it is a constant, unavoidable threat is a GOOD thing. It encourages the player to think strategically about how they proceed to operate in dangerous areas.

not much strategy involved when you get punched in the dark and flail around trying to bandage.

Its always your own fault for getting hit or killed. This game WILL reward you endless when you play it cautious and smart. Its fine as it is now. I wont tell you how to play at night, watch a DayZ vid or something.

I understand that there may be times where you cannot find the time to bandage yourself. However, that item you are suggesting sounds incredibly unrealistic. I'm not a doctor, but I haven't heard of anything that you can use that stops bleeding in the manner in which you describe.

For the purposes of this thread, I would like to suggest that you can issue a command to apply pressure to your character's wound. Doing so can reduce the loss of blood over time, but you cannot do anything while applying pressure to yourself.

(I'm just throwing the idea out for the sake, I haven't thought of any extensive repercussions of this feature)
