Vanishing Ammo -- how do I stop it?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

When I am swapping between a hatchet and a rifle, I put my rifle in my alice bag.

But unfortunately, it decides to delete all ammo I have except for 2!! So let's say I have 6 Lee Enfield magazines........ 4 of them vanish even if I have plenty of space in my inventory.

How do I stop this?

Har de har Bulletproof. Looks like the game thinks you want to place the magazines into your backpack as well as the gun. Make sure you have enough room in your bag for the magazines or move them into there manually first. Not the most beautiful fix, but works.

Ignore the troll.

When you put a weapon in your bag, the inventory system will automatically take all the ammo for that gun with it, wether you have space or not. If you have space, you just saved yourself some time, if not, it "eats" all the ammo you didn't have room for. I'm pretty sure this is just how the Arma 2 engine works and is not a choice of the developers.

To avoid this, you can try putting all your ammo in manually first (but make sure you leave the 10 slots for the gun or it'll eat that too)

Or, you could try dropping it all on the ground then picking it up after you store the rifle, but that is tedious.

Now, since it's a rifle, it's likely you wont need that much ammo for it anyways, most rifles are powerful enough to down a player in 2 shots, and most rifles are also loud as all hell, so you wanna avoid using it on zombies. So unless you're planning on a rambo-style last stand against a literal ton of zombies, you probably only need about 2 clips.

This is correct.

Make sure that you have enough space for the weapon (10 for primary and 5 for secondary) and also the number of clips/magazines of ammo.
