What is the Icon above Temp... [Face]

So Im pretty sure this is a stupid question but what is the face icon for? Im assuming it means your a bandit if it turns all the way red? Clarification please. Thanks!

Not sure if the face icon have any purpose now that the humanity system is pretty much gone, but the more survivors you kill, the more angry that face will look. Not sure about the color, certainly never changed for me, the only thing that did change was the expression on the face.

The face is a representation of your humanity. If it's smiling you're doing good. If it's looking angry, well... you're on your way to be a bandit ;)
