What are your thoughts on this process of banning someone ??

Right so our server has been suddenly plagued by god mode hacks which has made my current player base pretty pissed off as you can imagine.

So I decided to try think of how I can ban the assholes excuse my language, so we have scripts.txt and scripts.log but that is useless if they are using a battle eye bypass but then again is it I came to the conclusion of that if they are using a bypass they should never show up in the scripts.log meaning they are bypassing battle eye and obviously have something to hide so I ban them on suspicion of scripting/hacking and if they want the ban to be lifted they have to contact me, but nine times out of 10 they will move on and just annoy another server rather than dealing with the hassle of the ban.

So do you think this is a fair way to ban someone, also I did ban a group of four and it was the group of four god mode fucks in a spawned helicopter so this method does work.

Besides bypassing BE protection, the more advanced cheaters (those that code the cheat themself and not just execute something public), have a way to use other players ids to make it look like it is another player the one who is hacking. So right now BE is not very good against real cheater, they just ban those trying to run public cheats.

Your method of banning seems ok since it's not a global ban and anyone can appeal to you if they feel they were banned by error.

Best to ban by IP, dedicated server owners can add there IP to iptables.

IP ban is the easier to bypass, those that have dynamic ips just need to restart the modem.
