Hello Krovan, do you get an error code at all that pops up? or does it just switch out to you explorer?

No i dont get a error code at all, it just crashes to my desktop and i can hear the game still running in the background.It forces me to close out the game but ive been doing the Shift,- Flush method and it pops the game back up.

hmmm, is it a Steam copy or retail, if it is retail I would advise reinstalling however if it is Steam run a file check on it and see if there is something wrong there.

Maybe thats some issue with the patch itself but I doubt, I've a friend of mine who just updated to last beta and Dayz patch and he has no errors at all. Maybe a hardware/driver conflict.

Have you all updated the game through steam.

Heres the way I fixed mine.

Close the game and close steam

locate your Arma 2 Beta folder and delete it.

Restart your computer.

When the PC comes back up right click on your steam shortcut and run as administrator.

In Steam - Right click on arma 2 and goto its properties - Verify File Integrity (You may have 1 missing file...thats ok)

Now do the same for Arrowhead (Again you might have 1 or 2 files missing here....its ok)

Run both games once but dont play just exit once they start.

Copy the latest DayZ files back into the addons folder.

Install Arma 2 beta Patch ftp://downloads.bistudio.com/arma2.com/update/beta/ARMA2_OA_Build_95389.zip

Then install ftp://downloads.bistudio.com/arma2.com/update/beta/ARMA2_OA_Build_95417.zip (i had to install both for some reason you may only need latest)

Once both are installed try running DayZ (I run mine from the Beta Patch shortcut in my game folder which works fine)

Goodluck ;)

I cant seem to find the beta folder because I installed it via Six Updater, Is there anyway you could guide me to find it?

Its normally in your steam arma folder...then into the extensions folder. You should see beta folder......delete the beta folder.

Hi, you have a video memory issue. I want to help, but without some basic information idk.

Step 1: pc information --- hardware/operating system

Step 2: digital download version or box dvd version

Step 3: ingame video options ---- >example:

post-7581-0-84491400-1344056571_thumb.jp

Step 4: Arma2OA.cfg configuration file located in -- user/documents/Arma2/ArmA2OA.cfg ---- >example:

language="English";

adapter=-1;

3D_Performance=93750;

Resolution_Bpp=32;

Resolution_W=1920;

Resolution_H=1080;

refresh=60;

winX=16;

winY=32;

winW=800;

winH=600;

winDefW=800;

winDefH=600;

Render_W=1920;

Render_H=1080;

FSAA=0;

postFX=0;

GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1000;

GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=3;

HDRPrecision=8;

lastDeviceId="";

localVRAM=2129154048;

nonlocalVRAM=2147483647;

vsync=0;

AToC=7;

PPAA=3;

PPAA_Level=2;

Windowed=0;

class ModLauncherList

{

};

Without this basic information, all i can recommend is change ingame "video memory" to default. Possilbe game is not recognizing you gpu, thus the need to tweak configuration file.

So i just got done reinstalling both games for the second time now,Heres what i did.

Before you do anything make sure you delete the Arma 2 and Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead folders and reinstall both games.

Run steam as administrator.

Run Arma 2 get in and exit out.(Dont need to join any games)

Run Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead and exit.

Run Arma 2 : Combined Operations and exit.

Now i launched Six Launcher and installed etc.

Hit Launch.

Now, on the main menu i went to Options, Video Options, Advanced, Video Memory: go to default.

Joined a server and it hasnt crashed once in the last hour hurray! Thanks alot!

My Video Memory settings were on High so i think that might of been the problem.

Sigh... nevermind it just crashed again but this time it happend between 1-2 hours once i joined a server.

So this must be a hardware issure right?

Well atleast the game is playable now.
