Playing at night on a server

When my server went from daytime to night I really couldnt make the switch over. I didnt have night vision googles surprise surprise. What are your guys opinions/advice on playing during the dark?

I loved playing during night, especially when I didn't have the NVG yet. At first I had trouble adjusting, but I loved how the game changes cause of people not being able to spot you all that well, and the same with zombies. I must say though that I only remember encountering someone else with NVG while not having them myself once... I can imagine that if you're on a server where everyone has them it might be frustrating... :P

I love playing at night, though I'm a little cheeky, I turn the gamma up a little ;)

Personally i prefer playing at night if possible. I have NVG's though so its not an issue or me. Main reason i like playing on night servers is it makes assisting a patient much safer for me, if they dont have NVG's its a damn sight harder for them to kill me after i've treated them :D

For the record though: I have never been backstabbed by a patient after treating them, but that may just be becuase i'm such a nice guy lol :P

At first I hated it! Just starting out with a flashlight...terrifying. However, I've found that most people on my server don't night-play. So I like to utilize that for loot/Camp search/Helo crashes. So it's less of a necessity or a great time, but when it's dark, my play style gets a little less defensive is all :)

My opinion is I can't see sh** without NVG.

If I don't have a NVG when night comes I just switch servers. I know it's kinda of cheating but no way in hell I'm gonna wait for 6 hours till daytime again and night time is so freaking dark I can't see anything at all.

Also using flashlights, chemsticks and flares is just a death wish because of bandits.

I was up until 3am last night on a server raiding Cherno in the night. I've only been playing for about a week and a half and this has been my most successful raid on Cherno (I actually made it out alive, barely alive, but still alive). I was able to hit every high & medium yield residences, the supermarket and fire house (with 2 trips back to my tent) without ever seeing another player. The decreased visibility makes you damn near invisible to the zombies too, allowing you to basically sprint around the city without attracting a hoard. Even if you do attract some zombies I was able to easily lose them by simply running around corners and crouching.

I suppose I may have been a little cheaty though, as I turned my brightness all the way up and my gamma up to about 1.5 (kinda gave an night-time black & white horror film feel). *shrug* Its either that or not play... easy decision.

You can't carry flares or chemlights as their on can you? I remember last time I played at night I had recently died so I was literally empty. I ended up switching to a day server as well. I'd like to use the night time though to do scavenging and such so just asking opinions. I should try the brightness and gamma option, might help a little bit. Do flashlights attract ALOT of zombies? I guess I could run around a city that I'm familiar with and follow map as best as I can. And I guess if bandits come they come, its just another part of Day Z
