So, I heard you guys like STUFF...

...and as such I leave you here some stuff that player yndsu managed to gather in Stary and managed to preserve for a long time and allowing players to pick up what they needed. Pretty sweet. Until some bastard killed him and took over the place...

Anyway, here it is:

Most of my settings are on normal actually. AA is low, PP effects normal.

What? Why and how???

What do you mean?

So he would loot all the spawn spots and put everything into piles outside? That's smart, stuff would spawn faster, and rarer items would show up faster.

Exactly, plural. He was alone there so it makes things a bit harder.

For a guy doing that by himself and making piles for easy looting. As long as it wasn't some type of lay out bait and snipe those trying for it. Is pretty great to hear. Someone actually out to kind of be a help dragging everything to one spot really.

Now then, all we need is a large friendly force to sit up at NW Airfield keep it all cleaned out and in piles for people to stop in and pick up. The friendly aspect of Day Z, oh the possibilities 'could' be endless.

Hah,nice thing to do but Im sure piles like these would turn into a bait for bandits after you leave.

item farming kinda ruins the game...but then again it is risky to stay there for any amount of time, so risk-reward comes to play

How long did it take for the loot to respawn?

stuff like that in starry usually respawns in a few minutes you just gotta keep an eye out though you might get a bandit or some jumpy survivors shooting

So THAT's what that was. Couple dayZ ago, I ran into three big piles of loot in the middle of the Stary tent camp, along with 50+ zomboid corpses. After staking the area out to make sure it wasn't all bandit sniper bait, I descended into the camp and picked up a Coyote Elite backpack (!!!) and an MP5SD6. Oh and some sandbags, which are supposedly rare, too. The rest was garbage. Well... garbage compared to my M107. :) There might have been some other stuff worth taking because there were piles stacked on piles, making them hard to access, but I wasn't about to linger alone out there in the open messing with Gear. I actually never stopped crouch-walking while looting those piles!

I then posted a thread here in the forums asking if anyone knew what to think of that situation. I was thinking hackers spawned it all because I'd never seen that many zombies in one place. Any way, then the whole forum security issue occurred and that thread was lost.

Point is, now I know what the deal was, and I thank whoever did that for the MP5SD6 and Coyote Elite. I now have basically one of my dream loadouts: M107 for team overwatch and MP5SD6 for fast and zombie-free looting.

Indeed your piles are tiny, CQF sometimes farms and when we do 1 person does the farming and about 10 people watch over them. We have had some pretty massive piles before.
