Events Prior To Video

While doing my rounds in Elektro I get killed by 2 snipers who were in the hills (yes they both fired at the same time, AS50 and M107, so cute). I respawned at Elektro again and sought to seek revenge. I found a Lee Enfield with plenty ammunition so I made my way up to the hill where they were last seen by my friend.

I couldn't see the campers, then my friend tells me he spotted zombies just spawning at a barn a bit north of Elektro, so I creep through the hills and I end up behind all 4 campers, then the rest is explained in the video.

What I also found funny was how their spotter with his L85A2 Thermal weapon couldn't spot me at all.

Suggestion, you and your friend should get on some sort of VOIP program. Teamspeak, Vent, Etc. A lot better communication, and doesn't take you away from the game.

Those guys had much too good of shit to be sitting in the same spot they killed you from...You deserved all that shit you took from them.

Well, as I would like to agree I can't, because to be honest, I would have killed him too...it's part of the game. BUT, I still think it's great he went back for justice. The "bandits" in this case in my opinion were idiots, hanging 4 in the same tree line...it's not WWII, we don't need a firing line...and worst of all staying in the same spot after they killed someone. I kill people in Elektro everyday. I take their food and leave the rest for them or anyone who's brave enough to stand over a random dead body in the middle of one of the "hottest" cities in the game.

As for the "Zombie Survival" game...that's not the main focus you know? Because here is how that would go...Spawn, Food, Drink, Gun, Run, ......and never go back to a city again. I WOULD WIN, AND NEVER DIE...you know why...Because, Zombies won't go after you until you get close to them... the PvP aspect of the game is the best part of the game, and more of a focus than you think.

.....Just saying Rocket didn't put a Thermal/Night vision assault rifle, frag grenades, M136 Launcher, M203 grenades, and Door mounted helicopter machine guns in the game to kill zombies.

Bandits make dayz fun. PvP makes DayZ what it is. Without both those elements it becomes boring quickly.

That doesn't mean you have to actively seek the PvP element but feeling it as a constant threat in the back of your mind is important for this game to be so scary.

No bandits and this game turns into a picnic.

Haha yeah I thought it was that Ugn clan too, they were online at the time.

Well I play as Sephisto, my comrade plays as Larkinto. We usually just roll our dice when selecting servers so it's always a different server.

That was good revenge to be sure. The whole time I could not help but be astonished at how much you abuse that 3rd person. Amazing that 3rd person is even in a "simulator". If you are laying down in tall grass, you can't see over it. If you are behind a tree, you cant see around it. That's an exploit in my opinion. I apologize, not trying to steal your thunder, but that is pretty cheesy. Not as cheesy as the Alt F4 guy however.

"Abusing" 3rd person isn't bad. If it is enabled use it, so does everyone. If you don't like it go to a server where it is disabled. No problem at all.

In reality you have more stances than crouch prone and stand. You can stretch your neck, stand on your toes, climb over obstacles, dig holes, crawl on all fours, lay on your back. The game engine severely limits all those movement abilities we are so used to in real life. That is why using 3rd person to somewhat compensate for the lack of this kind of movement is not really a bad thing.

And yes, if you prefer to have it off just use expert servers. Some veteran servers have 3rd person disabled as well.

Frankly, playing in first person mode all the time is like looking through a cardboard tube. If limiting yourself like that makes you feel superior, then fine, but you'll be outplayed by the people who (rightly) use all the advantages at their disposal.

Alpo has the right of it. First person isn't more realistic. For one thing, I don't have a 60-degree cone of vision in real life, so even in third person it's like having blinders on when it comes to situational awareness. I could crouch behind a bush and part the leaves with my hand to peer out, but not in the game. I could raise my head just enough to see over grass or a rock, but not in the game. Inevitably in games, you find yourself piloting a robot that resembles a man, and it falls to the game's interface to pick up the slack. third person cameras, little bubbles on the edge of the screen, picture of a thermometer that changes colors, all these features are crutches, not for the player, but for the simulation.
