With so much hacking and item duplication exploits/bugs goings on, how about a complete item wipe, to include tents and vehicles, as well as a fresh character restart each time a new version of the DayZ Alpha is distributed? After all, this is an Alpha version of DayZ.

Could start doing this with 1.7.2.5...

I did not suggest that a wipe occur for every Arma2 beta, just each DayZ Alpha. =)

You are also 100% wrong since me and my crew did get one... til our pilot crashed it. :P

Was fun doing it, only it sucked that hackers made it take a whole lot longer to achieve by Thunderdoming us once followed by the always entertaining teleport-murder... that one just never gets old.

Ah heck... it only takes legit players and evening or three to fully gear up. At a minimum it would make premium gear a valuable commodity for a brief period of time.

Are you kidding me? Us legitimate players are *already* vulnerable to the script hackers; nothing you acquire in this game will be enough to adequately defend yourself against the more sophisticated script hackers since they can just go God mode on your ass if they feel the compunction to do so. Rocket, BI and BattlEye will hopefully fix that soon enough.

I agree about the wipe ( and no i didnt just died and our team has aworking helli) but only if the duping is fixed

otherwise whats the point?? The cheaters and exploiters will benefit as they can give them self's anything they want

and the legit players that took their time setting camps and equipment will get hurt . Once the duping bugs be fixed

I hate to say it. But I think you are mad about losing items or something similar. It is extremely unfair on players such as myself who don't try to hoard and duplicate but stick to the woods with their CZ550.

As someone said, updates are coming out nearly every week and until it is actually fixed there is no way I see this happening.

I do however welcome it when the BETA comes out and then followed by an official release wipe.

I'm mad about "losing items or something similar", so I'm suggesting a frequent database wipe? How does that make any sense? From my point of view, it's those who are against such an idea who feel that they have something to lose -- just my opinion though. ;)

I favor this idea, but only when big updates happen that do stop major game breaks (hacking, duping, ect). Updates that change other aspects of the game play (1.7.2.4 for example) don't require a reset because they arn't fixing unbalancing game issues.

Database wipe every update? Very bad idea.

But like once in a while, sure... Right now it would definitely need a wipe cause of all the reasons you already stated.
