Can I use my access to perma remove tents/wire/traps etc

Recommended Posts

So we have a few abandoned tent cities and Troll tastic deserts of wirefences that come back every server restart even after they are removed.

I have FTP access to the server, is there anyway I can use this to premenantly remove this, This data must be stored on the server somewhere as it's clearly not Hive or it would stay gone so logically it would suggest I can clean this up.

It's not so bad I want to wipe the server and start over yet (but is this an option also?)

Even a way to "Remove" the offending items in game the normal way then "Save" the server so this is the new base point would be perfect and probably less open to abuse

I'd love a way to schedule regular "saves" of the server the same way I have regular reboots to update tents and the such like (may even solve the duping issue?)

You cant remove any of the items via FTP. You would have to reset the server. In order to do this, you would have to get permission to but its most likely no

Damn :( was hoping it was a simple map file or database entry I could edit.

My only concern then is does it fall into the territory of "Editing the mission file" which is frowned upon even though it's simply manually fixing a bug =/

so you want to remove items placed on the map without touching the mission file? simple, if you have access to the server config, just simply change the name of the server. for example your server is de 188, simply change it to de ( <insert a unused number ) and it will remove any items off the map that players placed and saved, well of course by doing so you'll remove any saved vehicles or tents you have on there

Nice but sadly changing server name is a strict no no with our hosting company.

If I CAN do it via the mission file (I assume that's the dozen or so dayz_Chernarus_xxxx.pbo Files in MP_Missions DIR?) that would be great, but I've not seen anything about it and don't want to get our server blacklisted over something stupid like cleaning up tents =/
