despair (DayZ) 9 Posted August 1, 2012 seems recently it takes WAY longer to connect to servers than say 3 weeks ago. before i could find some servers that could connect within 20 seconds or less. now it takes on average 3+ minutes to connect.
Lord Fartus 61 Posted August 1, 2012 Actually it is. I know that might seem sarcastic but....yes, that's normal.

zenatsu (DayZ) 96 Posted August 1, 2012 Its really server specific i have come to find. There are a lot of servers that load you in nice and quick, then there are some that take for fucking ever.
Dragon0912 0 Posted August 1, 2012 (edited) This helped me reduce the loading time from 5 minutes to a minute. Read pages 5-7. http://dayzmod.com/f...en/page__st__80 Edited August 1, 2012 by Dragon0912
Dingus (DayZ) 429 Posted August 1, 2012 I keep track of servers that load faster for me.
Tweakie 199 Posted August 1, 2012 Ohh wow, a whole 3 minutes?? that is like 1/4 of what it used to be.On the serious side...some server seems to take longer, like servers that allow custom faces, etc.If 3 minutes is too long for you, quit and find a quicker server. Michaelvoodoo25 3120 Posted August 1, 2012 Just a few questions, I don't suffer from a lot of the problems I hear and read about on the Forums, so i was wondering if it was my method of updating that makes it fine for me?I'll share.Open Six updater, update, verifyDownload beta patch to desktop (top one on page) unpack to a desktop folder, run install (This program installed correctly) I do the beta theoretically twice once with Six and then manually)RESTART P.C. (very important step)Open DayZ Commander, In filter box I type the beta release number, Find low or mid player count server, with Low Ping then I Join.Within 2 min's I'm in a server playing. Now I did notice before I used this method I didn't have the resolution settings on the same res' and also I hadn't done a Defrag of my HDD for a while and I too was waiting for ages to get in game.Game aside I always recommend players keep their P.C.'s in order for optimum running.Hope something in this helps.
