Make players carry car parts

Hi!

Would be awesome if a player could carry just one car wheel and they would actually have to carry it in their hands (no weapons at the same time) and throw it on the ground if they need to shoot something.

Basically this would mostly mean that you could not hog all the car parts and store them so easily and if you happen to find a car to fix, you'd have to run four tires one at a time etc.

Would also be really cool to see someone running with a tire and you'd want to follow them to see if they know a car location

No, I shouldn't even have to elaborate on why not. Is it not enough already that one single part takes up 6 inventory spots.....

he is right I was carrying 7 scrap metal to fix a heli im sure you need 10 total and 7 took 21 slots and we still didnt fix the heli cause after we started adding parts the server crashed and it never came back, its already to hard to make cars/helis unless you have a big group of people to help you

yes, you should. and in great detail. because when you say "NO" in regards to something that makes sense in the context of the mod, you better be explaining yourself.

I thought DayZ was about "realism". how realistic is it to carry a car tire and a gas tank on your person and still be able to run and sprint and not get tired? with no constraints to your movement or shooting?

this is alpha, so I can understand some systems working in a very schematic fashion. but saying that this is how it should be? what? :huh:

the OP makes a very good point. reality check: a car tire is pretty damn big and heavy. you can't just carry it on your back in a bag or put it in your pocket.

The issue would be with having to replace your weapon with whatever car part you're carrying.

Picking up weapons is buggy enough as it is. I'd rather not lose my M4 in order to pick up a car wheel.
