2 Steam accounts, 2 computers. Can't be online at the same time

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Me and my brother each purchased Combined Operations on separate steam accounts. Last night we were both playing on the same server and all was well, however this morning he signed into his steam account on my computer before later signing out and going back to his own when i wanted to go on.

Now what's happening is even though we can both play Dayz we cannot be on the same server at the same time. when i go to join it just says "Kicked off game" i know its not a ping problem the only thing i can think of is when he signed into his steam on my computer, even though now we are both on different steam accounts on different computers.

Anyone know how I could fix this? Also when I logged on i was on a brand new re spawn even though i should be at Skulka with an L85A2. (The first time i pick up a cool weapon and i didn't even get a chance to shoot it lol)

Which ever computer doesn't have the correct account. Completely sign out of windows then back in. Launch steam as admin and sign into normal account and launch the game. This should update the cd key in the registry.

Did you try what I said exactly? Some people said this helped.

If you have two different windows accounts log into another. Steam has to be ran in ADMIN mode, launch Operation Arrowhead without dayz first and let it go all the way to the menu. Then launch dayz.

When i sign out of windows the only user i can choose is "Owner" so i sign back into that run steam as Admin then opened up Dayz (I did this on both computers) I'll do it again except i'll open up OA without Dayz first.

Cheers

What is happening is that when you run Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead steam updates the cd key in the registry for the account. When another steam account was used on the computer it updated the cd key to that account and now it won't update it back.

Someone else said that creating a new windows account and using that fixed their problem. All I had to do was simply run steam in admin and it fixed my problem.
