Monster Munch 2 Posted August 1, 2012 (edited) After an hour or more of trekking across Chernaraus we finally managed to unite the trio.Perhaps foolishly we decided it best that we met up at Chernogorsk as it was the most central location from each of our positions. As we approached Chernogorsk from north of the fire station we were greeted with the terrifying sound of bullets cracking past our heads and lodging themselves into the concrete and tarmac around us. We took shelter in a near by 3 story building. Our sniper taking position on the roof, concealed by darkness, to give overwatch and locate the source of the gunfire. Of course, it was coming from the fire station tower. So whilst our sniper held his position, the other two of us moved in quietly towards the enemy. Unseen, we managed to get close enough to smell the shit on his shoe. The whole while, we were communicating with our ever watchful sniper who was keeping an eye on what we thought was one bandit, we were horrified to discover it was two! Slightly nerved but not afraid of a good battle we pressed on and made our way into the fire station from the rear door. In hindsight, it would have perhaps been better for one of us to climb the ladder round the back. Once we were confident we had the bottom of the tower covered we gave our sniper the green light to fire on the bandits. With one squeeze of the trigger, the beautiful words "kill confirmed" came buzzing through my headset. Spurred on by this, the two of us decided to storm the tower whilst the deceased bandit's compatriot was disorientated. We were expecting a hail storm of bullets to rain upon us yet we were greeted with nothing but the sound of flies gnawing at the flesh of the dead bandit. This other bandit must have been a relative of the great Houdini, as he performed a vanishing act of which we had never seen..We proceeded to loot the spoils of our kill when suddenly BOOM, my team mate dropped dead right next to me. As tears filled my eyes I realised I had to get out of there as I was certainly no magician and only blind luck or great reflexes were going to get me out of this sticky situation. Whilst the sniper was frantically scanning the area for the source of my team mate's demise; I chose to sprint, foolishly forgetting about the Zombies that had scarcely bothered us in the dark, to a nearby red brick house. Trying to catch my breath, I noticed a zombie that couldn't have possibly seen me sprint past the window. I moved into the corridor ready to kill it if it decided to come in, I did not however notice the survivor behind me with a double barrel aimed at the back of my head. I don't remember what happened after hearing a crack. The sniper will tell the rest of the story from his perspective..From the rooftop, my heart started pounding as I soon realised our trio had been cut down to a solo survival mission against somebody, or some people, who clearly had the jump on us.I figured the survivor, nay the bandit, would check out the fire station in hope of finding survival tools. As I trained my scope onto the tower, I noticed a silhouette moving past the window like a moth buzzing past a lamp. I took aim, ranged my rifle, the beads of sweat dripping from my brow, I didn't falter. One shot, missed, second shot, hit him in the leg. He miraculously disappeared.Thinking it was safe and perhaps his body had been taken by the infection and had now become one of the many undead beings aimlessly walking the plains. I decided to move into the fire station to look desperately for some food as the pain was unbearable now.CRACK.. a bullet fires through the window narrowly missing my head. I moved into the lower floor of the station and opened a door as a decoy, re positioned in the tower and looked for any movement. Alas, I spotted a figure up high in a dangerous, for me, position. One squeeze, and the bullet went straight through his eye socket... Upon looting his corpse, I identified him as the one I had shot in the leg earlier.. How he managed to move to that position without me noticing him I will never know... His name.. was Sprunge. For those that do not want to read all of the above (I wouldn't blame you!) this is a summary of what happened:Got into a firefight in Cherno, killed one survivor. His friend disconnected, server hopped to relocate, killed two of our group. The sniper, hit him once and he disconnected again and relocated to a point he thought was better suited to kill our remaining member. We out thought this dumbass and moved to his last known location and made him make the first move, then killed him. Hence the title of this thread.Who? Sprunge Where? DK5 Verdict? Lysander_of_Sparta 43 Posted August 1, 2012 I have a similar story.I decide to go to Stary to:#1. Loot it#2. Try to sneak up on a sniperI loot Stary, (nothing there), and move up north to go for the deer stands. I loot the deer stands, still nothing, and hear gunshots down near stary. I move quickly down there, and see a guy with a coyote backpack and a svd camo. Anticipating good loot, I run up right behind him and shoot him about 7-8 times with my ak. Because of the nerf, though, he doesn't die immediately. When he finally goes down, lo and behold, the body disappears.I'm still pissed about that.
