To the friend on US 525.

Recommended Posts

I was laying in the grass outside of Elektro sniping zombies with a Enfield when someone came up behind me and started talking to me, asking if I was friendly. Eventually, we talked through the nervous encounter of meeting another player and talked about our experiences thus far. He helped me back to full blood and even gave me a shotgun

For the first time in Day Z I had found a non-hostile friend.

We then moved from the hills down to firestation to investigate some bodies. We looted the bodies and then proceeded to watch Elektro. Two men emerged from the outskirts of the town, and started heading back into the city. My new friend then suggested we move to the barn way out so that we could watch from a distance. I agreed.

I tell him I have to go AFK real quick to bring in some groceries and he tells me he is going to get to the high tower and look at the city. I bring in the groceries and come back. "Hey, im back." ...... silence.... "Hey, are you there?".. i peer up to the tower and see no-one on top. I crawl my way to the edge of the roof of the fire station and look down.

In horror, I see two zombies feasting on the corpse of my ghillie-suited friend, just under the tower's base, blood oozing from his body.

This man restored my faith in humanity and sent me forward with the belief that there are good people in Day Z.

I felt loss, I felt grief, I felt anger.

Goodbye friend. :'(

Aww that is sad... I've had some short term team ups with strangers, honstly almost every one is memorable but fortunately none that tragic.

I thought about that.

Also, the thought to take his supplies so that they weren't wasted or looted by someone else also crossed my mind.

And then, the server crashed.

lol, that is everything that is good and bad about DayZ in one phrase. "The game gave me an emotionally charged ethical choice to make, and then it stopped working"
