I don't know if this is possible with the hive infrastructure but here is my suggestion:

We've all had the problem of losing gear because it hadn't synched with the hive yet.

You pick up a sweet piece of loot but have to stop playing for the day. How long do you wait before risking the disconnect?

If there was a time-stamp of the last synch or an indicator if the player/inventory was fully synched this would be very useful.
