Snowrandom 0 Posted July 31, 2012 So today i bought Arma 2 Combines Operations from steam. I've encountered many problems setting up DayZ but i found solutions to them all. But now when I try to join a server (I use DayzCommander) it lets me join the game but my screen is black and has white dots on them. These white dots seem to move or go on and off, and from videos I've watched i can tell it's not night. Aso, I can see the HUD and hear myself walking. I found a couple of servers where this didn't happen on but I want all the servers to work and not spend ages finding a working server. Does anyone know a solution to the black screen problem? Streaforce 7 Posted July 31, 2012 Even though you are sure that's not the night there is actually no other solution. The experience with some videos might be nice to have and eventually sometimes usefull but overall there is no situation alike another in dayz. Keep i mind that the dayz night is heavily affected by the moon , the clouds and the stars. Because of that the nights can be nearly as bright as a day or pitch black. Causing you to see nothing else then a black screen. You should scavenge the servers which are working for you right now until you find nvg's with them you might check out those black servers again. By the way those white moving dots are zombies/animals/players they are shown on low difficult servers everywhere on the screen and on high difficulty servers only at the edge of the screen. Snowrandom 0 Posted August 1, 2012 I'm pretty sure it really isn't night though. There are no clouds visibly, the white dots are everywhere (like stars) but they move and flicker. I also just tried using my flashlight and there is no affect. I read somewhere that someguy had the same problem but again no one gave a solution. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Lunek 0 Posted August 1, 2012 (edited) Are there white dots on the left and right side of the screen?if yes: do they appear to be glitched (like the dot moves up or down and paints some kind of line if you move your mouse?)delete the Arma2OA.cfg file under documents/Arma 2 (Make sure to create a backup of that file), start up the game again and see if it works.Had the same error after editing some of the configs in the ArmA2OA.cfg (my error was that i set PPAA=0 (or PPAA_Level=0), set both to 1, worked again!
