Alt-F4: Cannot log off unless 200m from another player?

Recommended Posts

Would stop Alt-F4 and the slightly slower Esc>Abort. If you have to log-off then it's off to the countryside for you.

Could this work in the Arma engine?

and if you play with friends?

You run 200m away from them into the woods.

It's not perfect but getting sniped by a good marksman ought to mean you are toast anyway.

As far as the posts below are saying re having to log off cos of RL - well that's the price perhaps. Cmon it's not that difficult to find countryside in Cherno.

Suspenselol - 2000m is 2km btw.

not really sometimes i have to log off in town .....or sometimes i have to log off because of rl issues and cant spend 10 mins running to the woods

there is simpler ways to defeat lame douchebags that log off to ghost around or cheat death ..global/server ban

And if i am in cherno and dont have time to run 2000 meters out of town to "hopefully" not be near a horde of players?

Will never work :D what a bad idea.. people will jsut use it to cheating, like standing in elektro and try to log out to see if anyone is near you.. bad idea

Again read patchnotes, people who alt + f4 will be banned if they keep doing it.

I suggest you read the patch notes. No ones getting banned, everyone is being LOGGED. No action is being taken, and no system to enforce suspensions/bans based on player actions has been developed.

and if there will be systems to check if player received damage in last 10-30 seconds or used his weapon etc?

Somewhat like my friends suggestion, I personally like his better, but, their both nice.

His suggestion : If a bullet is fired within 2m of you, then you can't ALT+F4 until you move 50m from your position, and another bullet is not fired.

Until they fix the rampant hacking in this game, changing anything else (apart from FIXING the appalling screen tearing) is pointless. This idea, is pointless. Shoot to kill, don't fuck around, shoot him in the head.

Like that idea of proximity shooting concepts. Perhaps a combination of methods. Nothing will be perfect.

BrettHarrenton - You're a charmer. Getting 200m away from someone even on a 100 player server is pretty easy don't you think.

tonybravo - i don't think players will go through the hassle of logging relogging to do this. Maybe wrong.

I'm not in favor of that, as it would be used as a detection capability. Why not just a 1 or 2 minute logout delay regardless of what's going on/near you? You can exit, but your character stays where they are for the amount of time.

If you approach a village and see Zombies in the distance there's a cue. Dead zombies also another. If you're in Cherno or Elektro you'd be foolish to assume nobody is around. I dunno. it was a thought anyway.

As far as the timer thing goes Rocket has mentioned some ridiculously low time (in seconds) whereby a character is frozen in place before logoff. I would support the 2 minute time. You've got to be pretty sure your safe; therefore you're not in combat.

Why? If you're logging off in an unsafe area, that's your choice if it bites you in the ass. Stick around to be able to defend yourself if need be, but any motion/action would abort the logout.
