Games freezes when opening or closing back pack

I just got Dayz and am having a blast with it. The only problem I am having (as far as running the game) is when I open or close my back pack, The game freezes for about 5 seconds. Its a complete freeze with no mouse movement or sound.

I am running the game in 1680x1024 on high settings

My system is:

core 2 duo 2.8

4GB Ram

Nvidia GTX 260 (latest drivers)

Windows XP
