Before you read note that I am not complaining, but I am rather sharing my experience with you.

I started on Day-Z about a week ago. Have not had any issues with hackers or players killing me, and in fact I had only been killed once. For three days I searched town after town a few hours a day looking for tents in order to store some of the guns and medical supplies that were crowding my alice pack.

On the fourth day I had finally found a camping tent, but not just one. I received two camping tents due to some kind of glitch, or they were both stacked in the same spot.

I was in Vybor below the NWAF, and traveled all the way south to Zelnogorsk, and then went east to Msta to conceal my tents in the woods. The travel time amounted to about 2-3hrs of running due to zombie and player encounters.

Once I had arrived at my destination it was getting dark, and it was raining. I could not see two feet in front of my face to place down the tents. I decided to wait till the next day to do so.

On the next day I placed down my tents, and put my strongest weapon (no ammo) and all of my medical supplies in the tent. I then went around to neighboring towns and looted all that I could. Ended up walking back to my tent with nothing really worth while, and logged out.

Later that night I attempted to rejoin the server, but could not find it in the listings. Waited three days for said server to come back online, but it appears to be gone for good.

tl;dr: found tents after 3 days of searching, spent 5hrs to conceal tent, placed all gear in tents, and then the server goes offline for good.

Why do you need that server? Doesn't it transfer to other servers?

Tents don't transfer servers. Once placed down they are a part of that server. If you're offline or in a different server the tent will still be located in the same spot on said server.

You poor thing! Slooshie is right, dayz doesn't care. It's a lesson learned quickly though. You just have to grit yourself and get right back up again. Best of luck. It sounds like you're doing really well. I spend most of my time being chased by zombies or lying dead wondering what happened.

Thanks! It seems the only factor slowing down my Day-Z progress is the percentages of spawn on certain items. It's really easy after awhile! :]

At least your 10 day character didnt die because of a fucking graphic glitch.

I've got a day 6 character, and I almost died because a door in the barracks took out both my legs, knocked me unconscious, and made me bleed. Doors = worse than zombies by all means.

Only reason I lived was because the zombies in the barracks lost interest in my body somehow.
