The Crowbar Incident

Recommended Posts

(This true story contains dramatization)

The following incident took place on the 24th of July.

It was a stormy pitch black night and our merry band of survivors had just found two ATVs on a hill, they were in a very in bad shape and needed repairing before they could be used, so we deviced a plan; each of us would go our separate ways to scavenge spare parts around the eastern shore. This seemed like a good idea as we appeared to be some of the only ones lurking about in the night at that time. So we drew straws on where each of us would go, I got the long straw and headed to Berezino while my companions started making their way to the Solnichniy and the factory near Polana.

About 20 minutes later, we had searched high and low for the needed parts around Berezino and the factory but only found a fraction of the needed parts. So we placed all our trust in our female companion who was just about to arrive at the Solnichniy factory. A minute later she contacted us through the radio (skype), she had hit the jackpot! The abandoned zombie infested factory of Solnichniy had all the spare parts we would need and more! So each of us started heading that way as she had no way of hauling all the parts back by herself.

As she was waiting for us, we chatted on the radio, after all, the company of each other was the only thing left to make us feel alive in this ravaged world. When suddenly we hear a loud thud and her mumbling as she fell unconscious. Just moments later we hear the sound of her body being dragged around as she is crying for help, when suddenly we hear three more loud thuds and after that the radio goes silent.. A morbid feeling comes over us and we fear the worst. My friend arrives on the scene just moments later. With his radio still transmitting at his toolbelt, I hear a horrid scream then a hail of gunfire followed by a brief silence. I start yelling on the radio for my friend to respond, and after a short while he says with a shivery voice: "The bastard... the bastard dragged her to a corner and bludgeoned her to death..... I got him though, I got him good!". Minutes later I arrive to the factory to find the horrid scene; our precious lady friend just lying there in the corner in a pile of blood with her head caved in, and the psychopath holding a crowbar next to her riddled with holes.

To this day we keep asking ourselves: "Why her and not me?" and "Maybe it would have turned out differently it was one of us."

We were never the same after that fateful night in Solnichniy.
