Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted July 31, 2012 (edited) I managed to have a camp up and running for eight days before I had to move servers and start again :(.Basically, everyone seems to follow the same process when placing camps which makes it easy to find them. They're always near the edge of the map or an an obvious hill up North. Mine was in the west of the map 5k from the edge, behind a house away from any spawn points. Worked a treat. dgeesio 1034 Posted July 31, 2012 (edited) i think if the items arnt being used they should respawnhoarding everything is boring this will also keep players moving about and keep the game interesting .at the moment its just big clans and big groups winning at DayZ . get big group dupe as much stuff as possible then hide the stuff on edge of map and get all vehicles on server . then drive round in large group with full arsenal powning new players with nothing because you already looted it.hopefully duping and tent wipes and vehiles are looked into soon to stop this. Harette 5 Posted July 31, 2012 I think its kind of luck of the draw to get Tents/Vehicles/Inventory to save right now... We just kept getting/repairing tents and vehicles, and finally we got a UAZ, and a bus to actually stay after the restart, granted their inventory keeps reseting, but hey, at least we got the vehicles!As for the tents... we just kept putting down 3 at a time each day, and then would call it a night. Eventually they started to stick around after restarts. Once that happened we would dump a gun or 3 into each one, (something we didnt care about), and once they actually stayed after a restart we could finally use them cause the inventory would commit.Just do it slowly, and as a process, and keep a majority of important gear/items on you until you can verify they stay, and save.Over all it only took us, maybe a week of try/fail before the vehicles and tents stayed, and inventory saved to tents after restarts.We still haven't gotten any inventory on the vehicles to stick after a server restart though... but hey, at least when the inventory resets they come with 2 jerry cans on each so we got gas to drive around and get gear.
