Islands like Otmel and Drakon.

Recommended Posts

Upon playing DayZ I always looked forward to gaining access to Drakon. Be it the mystery of what may spawn on that island or the fact that you are disconnected from the main land to provide safety, from player or zombie alike.

So Survivors/Bandits, tell me what you think of this. Implement incentives for island travel, more reasons to travel by boat or fly UH-1H style, or risking the swim to lose your precious items (I know you can disable item loss, I think it takes away from the game, for this to work maybe item loss will have to be implemented). Heli-Crashes, Barns, Military tents, higher quality industrial/military loot. More to the point creating larger islands off the coast with higher grade military spawns to create another higher level of play, a new or temporary endgame. Put a new barracks on the map on a island with deer stands overlooking the docks to create a level of shoot to kill ambushing.

This would add new detail to the game that gives sea-faring bloodthirsty bandits (Pirates :D) or survivors taking to the sea to find munitions or artillery to further their chances to survive.

Does this idea deserve a sharing of beans?

Maybe even a hatchet to the face?

Your choice.

This idea has been thought over a decent amount, and when the game's a standalone, there's a large chance that if there's boats, something like this will happen. So you may have this comment, not beans nor hatchet.

Food for thought however, ever wonder why no one ever has camps set up on the island at the bottom left corner of the map?
