Mos1ey 6301 Posted July 31, 2012 I was playing in a night server last night, hit a graphical bug so I couldnt see where I was going and fell in the water. I was swimming for like 5-10 minutes trying to get out, eventually got out and had to run for a while with my temp icon flashing to find an indoor area. Eventually found one and managed to raise my temperature high enough to avoid infection status. Didn't even use a heat pack.Needs to be made a bit more harsh to be in keeping with the rest of the game IMO. Thoughts?
roguerazr 8 Posted July 31, 2012 I know what you mean. I can be out running around in the night while its pooring and be at nearly full temp a lot of times. Then randomly it will drop out of no where. I think weather should have a larger effect, but also be much more gradual.Really though, antibiotics need to be more common as well if this is to be messed with. Detta (DayZ) 59 Posted July 31, 2012 42 celsius is already too harsh. I'm Norwegian, I think it's warm at 20 celsius.I would've probably died of heat.
BrettHarrenton 29 Posted July 31, 2012 Have you ever ran? Do you realize how warm that keeps you?

You would keep on top of it using heat packs which are incredibly easy to find. :)Also, infection isn't really that bad as a status effect. It's like pain, if you run out of painkillers it isn't the end of the world if you have to put up with it for a while until you find some.Have you ever ran? Do you realize how warm that keeps you?I was swimming at night in Russia for 5-10 minutes. If that doesn't merit hypothermia then I'm not sure why 'temperature' is in the game, lol. ivan keska 39 Posted August 2, 2012 Running does keep you very warm as one guy said above, I've ran outside before just a short mile to school on money. It was -20 outside and I was fine with just a thin fall jacket, jeans, and light boots, also a ski mask (took that off before I got close to school), only part of me that got cold was my cock and balls and it was a horrific pain once they started to warm up.Also if your a runner you know the rain is the best thing ever when running since it helps keep you cooled a bit but not cold, same with night time to.But I think the temperature system does need to be more real, like as you get colder aiming is more difficult because motor functions are getting effected and maybe picking loot up and doing tasks take longer or require multiple tries. But we also need over heating, that occurs from wearing Ghillie suits or being near a fire to long, running to long, and so forth. Which can cause again harder time aiming, hazy vision, passing out, and if pushed to far death same as being to cold.
