BattleEye Initialization Fail?

Topic name.

Every time I attempt to enter nearly any server, it will say "BattleEye initialization failed".

Please help. I just purchased ArmA II & OA from Steam and have been trying to play it but cannot. /cry

im getting a similar error "Battle eye failed to update". i ran the updater and all that, but im getting nowhere. i tried manually patching but then i keep getting "network errors" and cant download the zips. its just one error after another...

I tried to fix it and it only keeps failing. Also, I tried to reinstall it and it says "MISSING STRING!!"

This seems to me common all of a sudden . I'm trying to help a buddy right now fix it no luck though
