gatortribe 14 Posted July 30, 2012 I run DayZ mod on a mid-2010 MacBook Pro (13"). I have everything on high (except the special effects like post processing, AA, etc.) and get 25-30 fps. My friend has an Alienware m11x and has done everything to get it to run at playable frame rates, but gets about 2 fps (literally, no joke). My specs: 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4gb RAM, nVidia 320m (256 shared mem), 1280x800His specs: 1.2Ghz (he says 2.6) Core i7, 4gb RAM, nVidia gt 335m (1gb dedicated mem), 1376x768So what gives? austen (DayZ) 1 Posted July 30, 2012 (edited) I know the game depends on the graphics card more. For instance high graphics (putting more load on the GPU) actually increases frame rate but I dont know much more than that. Good luck fixing :) Edited July 30, 2012 by austen
gatortribe 14 Posted July 30, 2012 He's tried that to no avail. He runs every game BUT this better than me.
ThatGuyCalledReptile 314 Posted July 30, 2012 From what I've read Nividia graphics cards don't work well with this game.I use AMD and it works perfect at 60fps on max graphics
gatortribe 14 Posted July 30, 2012 Don't know how they stand against AMD's, but I know his is definitely better.
SystemiK 366 Posted July 30, 2012 I know the game depends on the graphics card more.Actually it's the other way around. The game is highly CPU intensive.
gatortribe 14 Posted July 30, 2012 Actually it's the other way around. The game is highly CPU intensive. That must be the problem. Although he set most to high (since that pushes it to the gpu instead of the cpu, therefore reducing the load on it)
gatortribe 14 Posted July 30, 2012 *UPDATE*It appears he has the r2, so it is 2.266 Ghz i7. That also has a GMA x4500, and I believe the game is using the GMA, not the nVidia. So does anyone know how to force it to use 335m?
