Sharlandra 3 Posted July 30, 2012 So my friend and I have been switching back and forth between these US servers, whichever one is day time mainly =P, and the other day one of the servers we were on got hacked and everyone got moved into the air and fell to their death. =/ Anyway, we decided to start over and we joined our other friend on this South American Server and created new characters and built our stuff back up. So today when we went to go play again, we went to join a US server again (not the one we got killed on) and we were prompted to select our gender as if we had died. We were confused so we went and connected to the same South American Server as the night before and our characters were right were we left them with all our gear.I thought Character Data was persistent across all servers? Can someone explain to me why this is happening? I will get the exact server names when I get home.
SponceUK 24 Posted July 30, 2012 Are you sure it was a hive server?

Rokochan 26 Posted July 30, 2012 make sure you're on a hive server if you want saved progress. if you use the dayz commander app you'll find around 2300ish servers, 30 of them are locked, and 862 of them are not connected to the hive

Acix 132 Posted July 31, 2012 if you are connecting to games via the normal ingame multiplayer menu the servers that are non-hive are usually named as such, Private Server or Non-Hive, if using Six Launcher or DayZ Commander I believe they are labeled as well.. Non hive will not keep your normal character info and those servers can be great to play on when not running with your squad or friends and you want to stay where you logged off but still want to be able to play the game, allowing effectively you to have an Alt of sorts... best of luck to you hope this was informative
Sharlandra 3 Posted July 31, 2012 This information is helpful, thanks to all who have helped. Here are the 2 servers, one we normally play on, and the other is the new one that seems to be non-hive. Can you tell me if there is an indicator that the 2nd one is non-hive? (This is in Game)1. DayZ - US #500 (v1.7.2.4/95417) [REG][GMT-8] Error Transmission Lost2. DayZ - US (v1.7.2.4/Beta 95417) [Regular][GMT+8] dayzmod.com - Hosted By Hezmana
