Safe to Put Up Tents?

Hi,

Just wondering if its safe to put down tents and store stuff in it.

Cuz I set one up waaayyyyy north, but still within the coordinates of the DayZ map (Coords from this map: http://dayzdb.com/map, XX02), and saved it with the character that created it. (patched to 1.7.2.4)

Could it be someone blew it up or ran it over with a bicycle? I put it in a server that restarted every 4 hrs.

Am not too bummed about it, i just wanna confirm if anyone set up camp after 1.7.2.4. and its still up and running atm (over 1 day old) cuz i have some decent junk i wanna store away so i can run back to Cherno and chase people around with a crowbar (not axe) :P

*The character that put up the tent died but I went back there about 30 hrs after his death

If the server restart, that can make it disappear, or it was just a bug, i'm not sure but dying shouldn't make the tent go away, and finally it may have just disappeared after the update.

I have numerous camps spread over three servers. All within the intended map. They have served me well the last two weeks; The only items I have lost are items I have added to a full tent as a result of not counting properly (make sure you know how many general items and weapons/tools you have in your tent at any given time). My last camp have been up on a 1.7.2.4 server the last 2 days, and is working beautifully. I experienced a few glitches in my first camp tied to packing down tents and then having the packed bag being eaten by the server, but in my case I have grown to trust my tents once they are pitched up and running. Just remember to save. So I would say it is safe, yes. Besides, the only alternatives you have are to either use vehicles (which are not as readily available) or to not store items at all. Tents are very practical, and it's also fun to scout out good camp locations, and to eastablish bases, homes.
