Going for a pinned topic here - but may not get one.

Please do not create another topic about alt+f4. Alt+f4 is a system shortcut, the DayZ developers cannot write code that changes these shortcuts.

Any action taken against people who alt-f4 in combat (commonly known as "combat logging" would have to come from trend monitoring and reciprocal action.

Thanks.

So.. isn't that what they are doing? Trend monitoring then acting on it?

I'm not sure what the point is here.

actually if the game has an existing shortcut for alt + f4 windows will use the program that is currently running as a priority over the system shortcut.

Actually they can disable the shortcuts. When the stand alone comes out maybe. Just like in my suggestion thread. Razer's Synapse 2.0 they have a box u can check to disable alt+f4. All they have to do is code this into the .exe file as enabled and no way to disable it. But could be easily bypassed with other software.

It's possible to disable or rebind Windows Hotkeys (like ALT+F4) in an application. However, there are multiple other methods to disconnect from the game with a single action besides ALT+F4.

My personal favorite: pull the plug!

- buy a power cable with on/off switch

- place this cable between power source and your computer

- play the game

- when someone shoots you; switch it off (turning off your computer)

- switch it back on

- play the game again

not to fule players ability to combat log, but disconnecting your game from the internet to lose connection will force you to rely on the servers capabilities to catch that you are no longer connected meaning that in theory you could stay on the server for an unknown amount of time before the server realizes it causing you to die.

Yet the body disapearing from the game, when alive or after death, this is ingame related, right? Or is it not possible to differentiate between regular loging out and alt-f4? Then I can understand the difficulty.
