Server & Client Update (1.62.95417)

Recommended Posts

Hi all, following a discussion with Dwarden at BI, him and his team were looking into an issue I raised that not all servers were showing in the server list... anyway.

The issue is that the DayZ team when sending out emails to Server hosters are sending the following.

Dear

Many of thea changes in 1.7.2.4 include changes in the way the game communicates with the Hive. These changes require every server to be running the latest version of both the Mod and the Hive component, run with BattlEye enabled, as well as a recent beta build of at least 95389.

To make sure every server is in sync with the recent developments, we are required to disable older versions of the Hive extension from being functional in the near future, which, at this point, is estimated to occure in about 36 hours from the sending of this email (subject to change). Tomorrow morning there will be a final wording regarding this subject.

The re-introduction of Helicopters is directly affiliated to this change and thus they will not be functional till previous versions of both DayZ as well as the Hive component have deflated, as the changes of the recent patch are mandatory to make them functional.

Further testing also showed a small bug in the Hive component, for which we will be releasing a second update for on the server side (0.7.2).

Changelog:

* [FIXED] Vehicles with ID's above 1 million don't syncronize.

* [FIXED] First object in the database not being loaded.

Again you must be running a build that is at least 95389, BattlEye has to be enabled for your server to be fully functional and it is very import that you update your Hi ve component to the latest version within the next 24 hours.

Download the server files from here:

The discussion of this topic can be found here:

To download the Beta patch:

Note: This Beta update may require you to manually update BattlEye.

To download the latest BattlEye update:

http://battleye.com/download.html

The ideal place to report bugs is at the community bug tracker:

https://dev-heaven.net/projects/dayz.

See the above section 'To download latest beta patch'

This is only pointing server hosters/users to the incremental updates which only updates binary data (not actual files).

Users and Server Hosters should install the FULL PATCH (1.62) http://www.arma2.com...=folder〈=en

Which solves a number of issues and actually updates user data....

*Edit* -Then install the beta patches-

This was taken with a pinch of salt by the BI team....

Here's the current filename running on my server from HFB.

DayZ 1.7.2.4 + Hive 0.7.2 + Beta 95389 + BattlEye v1.61.94945+ - 7/27/12

Was the 1.7.2.4 + Hive 0.7.2 available on 7/27/12 or is this new updated 0.7.2 hive mentioned above something more recent? This is not a case of an updated Hive file hotfixed and re-released with the same filename as the previous un-hotfixed hive file is it? We had troubles with this crap the last time...
