You're probably playing on server that have a private HIVE. Make sure you play on legit servers.

I belive items save every 45 sec, If you loot something and log of straight away, your gonna have a bad time.

Can you elaborate further?

No offense intended, but if you disconnect while being shot at and probably get killed, you will start with a new character, I suppose.

I am on legit servers and i had my items for like 10 - 15 minutes and they were gone when i relogged onto the same server.
