All the people above are either speaking without knowing what they're talking about or simply lieing. Battleye bans are on CD-KEY, meaning that if you buy a new copy of Arma 2 OA, you will get a new CD-KEY and therefor be able to play again. IP bans only happen on the HIVE on rare occasions and happen only manually by DayZ staff. You'd not be banned from ARMA 2 server but from all DayZ servers. If that were to happen to you then buying a new CD-KEY wouldn't help.

I hear however that Battleye is now also tracing abuse using IP's rather then just CD-KEY's, meaning this could change in a near future, so if you get yourself banned again, there is a fair chance you can't just buy a new CD-KEY.

I get you guys don't like seeing hackers in the game but don't act like you've never done something stupid to get yourself banned from a game or server. Or got yourself thrown out of a class as a kid for misbehaving, it's the same thing. Everyone deserves a 2nd chance. Imo you're no better selling bullshit to the guy then any of the hackers in game.

You do need to clean your registry as well when you install the new copy of the game and register your new key. Otherwise ArmA will be loading up using the original key.

I have never been stupid enough to cheat and get banned for anything on any game. I have done stupid things in the past though. Thankfully nothing I will every say I regret doing...but stupid things none the less. I think the ignorance being portrayed by most of the people in this thread is rather pathetic. If one can own up to his mistakes and pay for them then I say good on him and let him start with a clean slate. If he gets banned again...fuck him.

and for the record, for whoever said we have all hacked at some point; I have never cheated in a multiplayer game. The last time I even used a cheat code was in GTA4, after beating it a few times, in single player. Reset your modem if you have an IP ban, it's very doubtful they will rangeban you (You need a dynamic IP, not a static)

Start up your new Arma II OA with the new CDKey

Enjoy and don't fucking hack this time.

Even if what your doing is undetected, it will not stay that way for long.
