Placing items?

If I wanted to form a small base with my friends and we picked a building, would I be able to leave items there for them? I mean, if I place some guns on the ground and leave, will they stay there forever?

I am pretty sure that dropped items are "cleaned" up every so often to make sure there are a limited number of items in the active play area. I'm not 100% sure though.

I went to nw airfield, on....saturday, and dropped my m16 for a m24, on sunday we went back and it was still sitting there in the corner. The exact same gun, it dident re spawn. Had same mags and Wasn't at a loot spawn, was in corner.

u kidding me ? the last guns me and my mates dropped on the ground VANISHED ON DROP :D we never try that again
