Suggestion: An idea to solving losing items on character

Recommended Posts

INTRODUCTION

Ok so i have no idea how a characters info is saved to the DayZ server, what process it goes through if it's every so often, etc. so i came to a conclusion that, regardless of how it works at present, i'd pitch this idea. Also sorry to the forum mods if it's already been suggested i tried looking for a similar topic with no luck at all. the main reason for me posting this idea is due to item loss from not syncing properlly to the main Dayz Server that stores Character items etc.

IDEA

Have an option or maybe even command to force update a characters current inventory and backpack status/items to the DayZ Main server. Now i understand your' all gonna go, this helps people Dupe shit, well here's the other part of it, also force this update when logging off a server, i mean im sure the server keeps track of what people have in their pockets and backpack 99% of the time, i have no idea, Maybe remove the player from the physical Game world and do a check on what they are carrying, write that to a file and force send this to the DayZ Main server where all our character shit is kept.

WAYS TO KEEP IT FROM BEING ABUSED

Now also people could spam that command to force update their inventory, etc, give it a C/D timer registered to the local server and not allow that player to force update that info again until say 30 min later and only 30 min after server log in, considering how long it takes to get in-game already this should discourage people to even bother swapping servers because the second method of force updating on log-off is in place preventing that method of duping. That only leaves the accidental Duping of items due to server lag or slowness, or w/e it is that causes it when picking up items or moving them from inv to a storage.

FEEDBACK

Ill take both Negative and Positive Feedback so please feel free to poke for holes and i can add to the idea more based on community feedback.
