Obsolescence 129 Posted July 30, 2012 My friend and I were looting the military tents outside of Berezino. I was overwatch and my friend was looting. He got into a spat with a zombie and shot a few pistol rounds. Half a minute or so after he arrives back, we see two survivors crawling along the road slightly closer to town. He wanted to try out his new M14 and killed them both before they knew what had hit them. Less than a minute later, just after we got done being chased by a couple zeds, the server crashes/restarts/disconnects us.There were only a handful of people in the server. Is it possible we killed the admin and he restarted? Or is that not possible and it was just a coincidence?Either way I don't remember the server name, it was a US ###.Also, do most snipers loot people when they kill them? It seems pretty risky to go stand around in an area obviously vulnerable enough for your prey to die. I've never sniped anyone so I hadn't encountered that question until today. Its if its saved to the hive or not.Ive had it sometimes where its bugged ive died and when i came back i spawned where i was 2minutes ago with the same gear? Even going thru the process of about disconect to the lobby and click ok to come back in. Even though i died. That happened in 1.7.1.5 but not since that patch.Ive heard of restarting servers to repair vehicles but not to cheat death. IF you --------------------------------------------------------(blanked out) you can cheat death sometimes as it wont save your death in the hive. I've never sniped anyone so I hadn't encountered that question until today.Unless its a pretty secluded kill (in a house or something concealed) I don't get off my hill / building to loot most kills. LunaTiK (DayZ) 45 Posted July 30, 2012 (edited) Yes admins have been known to restart servers to cheat death. I killed a couple of admins on an empty server the other night in the dark. I still had the kill msgs up when I went up to loot and couldn't loot then I started getting the "no message received..."
