Getting serious fps lag

Recommended Posts

Specs

Q8300 quad @ 2.5ghz

4gb ram

GTX 570

I have everything on the lowest settings and i'm still getting less then 10 fps. I'm able to play Battlefield 3 with all settings maxed out with no problems, what do I need to upgrade on my computer? I'm guessing the ram

Its not your gear. Its the combination of settings and servers. The Ai and polygons in cities are overwhelming for some setups. Try putting all your settings on normal, hiking your shadow to high. video memory defualt. AA off. make the interface and 3d resolution the same and the native res that your screen is. Also. I was playing on widescreen because my monitor is but I put it down to 4:3 aspect ratio and that helped. If this problem persists check all the tactics on using RAMDisc and launch options.

Actually it's not called lag, it's simply called poor performance. I have the same issue and FPS is so atrocious right now (max of 17fps,most of the time 9 Nine fucking fps) It's unplayable

I know you're trying to help, but honestly NONE of that helps. Also reducing your 3d resolution results in worse performance as it puts more load on the CPU instead of GPU. AA also makes NO difference whatsoever. I lowered all my settings except shadows and result=worse FPS than before. Counter-intuitive i know but that's how shitty this engine really is.

Poor performance is simply due to crappy unoptimised engine coupled with DayZ asking too much of said engine.
