Steam causing lag.

Recommended Posts

Alright, so. Whenever I try to start the game through Steam I get these strange errors, such as; ''Addon 'CAMisc_fix_Str' requires addon 'CAStructuresHouse_A_Office01' '' and a few different bin/entry errors or whatever.

I just click okay and move on. I can still load into the servers without crashing or anything and shit. But, here's the problem, I get SERIOUS fucking FPS lag when I get onto the server. This does not happen when I use the Six Launcher. I can also join other types of Operation Arrowhead servers without lag.

So, yeah. basically my problems are these errors and the FPS lag on DayZ servers using Steam.

Thanks in advance!

It is most likely because when you launch the game from steam, it is often missing some startup parameters that six launcher gives it. And when launching manually, i think the startup from six is kept, but i am not entirely sure.

-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -mod=@dayz

Those are the startup parameters I've set up. Any idea of how to get to the parameters that Six Launcher uses?

Oh wow, I managed to fix it actually. I basically moved all the files from the Addon folder inside the Arma 2 Free folder to the Common folder in both @DayZ and the normal Common folder inside the Operation Arrowhead directory.

Only '' problem '' now is that the menus are all fucked up. I think I'm getting the Arma 2 menus and the OA menus mixed in some way. Not a big deal for me, but yeah.

So this might be a solution if you want to deal with this shit; http://steamcommunity.com/id/yoshimanitsu/screenshots/ it's the pictures from 2012-07-30

Only problem is, When you right click, your stuff will drop behind the menu. This can be solved by right clicking the farthest right side of say, bandages. You can also move the entire menu to the left side, and the "bandage self" will still come up in the original spot.
