Keep Spawning with Red Hunger and Red Thirst

I'll leave the game with full thirst and hunger and then when I rejoin I will spawn with Red Hunger and Red Thirst? Is this a simple alpha glitch? Or is this part of the game?

This is working as intended.

However, I haven noticed a bug that after you die, you spawn a new life already hungry and thirsty. I don't think that is working as intended.
