Tips on how to pitch tent?

Its hard. It really is, for me at least. I usually have to hand off my tent to a friend so it can be pitched. Im on a flat area as always but it still almost never lets me.

Do you guys have any tips on how to set one up?

I look at the ground (third person or first person does not matter). Open your inventory and right click the tent to pitch it. If it does not work, keep moving around and spam it. This is how I do it and it works. You may have to try it quite a few times, but it does work. Just be sure not to sit too close to a tree or you will not be able to use the tent. My friend pitched one and the stump was through the tent, then he couldn't use it.

It will pitch eventually.

The biggest problem I've had with tents is that they don't save after server restart. They will dump all contents and you will have nothing but an empty tent. There's almost no sense in pitching a tent right now.

Well, i just open up my gear and right click the tent. If it fails, i just move one step backwards and do it again. You'll eventually do it. :)

I know, I have the mental age of a 12 year old - but I still chuckled. Glad to see Sarge is with me on this one.

(and more constructively, same as the other lads above - just try pitching, then moving and repeat. I found weirdly sometimes they pitch easier closer to the tree trunk, but if you do successfully pitch right under/almost-in a tree, the tent could swallow your toys and not save em. That was a while back though, I know theyve been working on fixing em).

Well, I have seen 4 tents, all placed in ROCKS. Its very hard to see them, but they were marked on the map and I was like Hahahah, so I put a marker on the map saying tents empty.

Is their a source, is this a bug with 1.7.2.4? or what. And is it the same with vehicles?

I've had stuff in tents go missing, along with vehicles. I highly doubt people took everything in the tent because some of it was junk trololol.
