Artois 0 Posted July 29, 2012 Ok, hello everyone ! I found a m24 and i had some good shots in cherno (5 kills in a hour or so), but i decided i wanted to play in a server without tags, so now i would like to know how to calculate the target distance for zeroing the rifle before the shot. Can anyone help me?
bobtom 10 Posted July 29, 2012 Well, if this vanilla ArmA, I would tell you to get out a rangefinder, but since it's DayZ. I don't think there is a way.
Hidden_Ops (DayZ) 27 Posted July 29, 2012 Have a map? Use map grids/landmarks to determine range to target.

Amuse 15 Posted July 29, 2012 well if ur on a regular server just scroll the well and the distance will show up in the middle of the screen.if ur on a veteran server though u have to fing a rangefinder in a deer-stand or other military loot.
jordy@sigux.com 44 Posted July 29, 2012 I know you can use the mil-dots on it to estimate the range to your target, just like the SVD, but don't ask me how. Couldn't find a range table on the internet :S

Crushyg 1 Posted July 29, 2012 telephone poles, known distances, map. Find out the distance to one major object and guess a bit from that at other distances.
