Mysterious Self-repairing Bus

So today, me and my friend were playing on a night time server with about 10 people on it.

We had just looted the military tents at Cherno and went on the roof of the building next to it to have a look around for players and stuff, when we heard a vehicle driving down the main road.

We instantly started shooting it with our guns (M107 and AKM) and by chance, one of my M107 shots managed to hit and kill the driver.

When we got to the bus, we discovered that it had a damaged wheel, which was the only issue. Eventually we found a replacement for it and headed back.

After spending a few minutes trying to figure out where to look to repair, I found it and the bus repaired itself on its own as the repair screen came up.

I thought that it may have perhaps just taken the wheel from my inventory and repaired the bus automatically, but I later found out this was not the case.

After driving it around for a while, we eventually crashed quite hard into some things which damaged the wheels again.

As I got out to look for parts, I realised I still had the wheel in my inventory from before. At this point I realised that no matter what I did, bringing the repair screen up would instantly fix the bus.

We kept crashing into things to test it, and discovered that no matter how much damage it took, we could keep bringing it back.

We assumed that the bus was "hacked" or something and took it upon ourselves to destroy such an immense power by driving it into the water at the berezino docks.

It now rests at the bottom of the dock, perhaps for another player to find and ponder.

So this brings the question; Is this a bug with the DayZ game itself? Or was it indeed some kind of "hacked" vehicle?

I can confirm that the driver was operating under the tag "*BARTH BOYZ*" as well as another player on the server, though we didn't encounter any other players after finding the bus.
