ghillie suit trouble

I found a ghillie suit on a 1.7.2.4 server, When I put it on I was teleported to some strange waterworld so I disconnected and then was miles away from my last location with no ghillie suit ? I thought this bug was fixed, I just found another one but am fearful of putting it on due to the fact I may tp/die. Anyone else having the same problem ?

I'm using the 6 launcher as I thought it updated its self.

Best check your six launcher options to make sure "force enable beta patch" and "update beta patch" are both ticked.
