Steam Copy, invalid/bad CD error

So I bought Arma II combined operations but whenever I try to join a server it says invalid/bad CD key... I have updated to the latest BETA patch and so have the servers I try to join...

Have you run arma 2 by itself via steam and then run arma 2: OA by itself through steam? (first time each is run, steam writes the relevant cd key/serial to your computers registry).

Do you have the steam version of combined ops? Were there any error messages from battleye when it was installing? Are you using Six Launcher? Anything else of note you remember happening when u installed?

I have the steam combined ops, Battleye works fine but I remember when launching OF for the first time there was an error so I ran CO and after that OF again and it ran fine... So now all the games have been ran on their own yet it still doesnt work :/ However, when I now run OF it runs as the DAYZ mod and it doesn't do the installation like it should have

Try reinstalling it or try closing steam and running it as administrator.

So I deleted the DayZ mod and tried running OF but it came up with the same error message as before; "error compiling pixel shader PSSspecularAlpha:0"

Very odd, had you already installed the mod and beta etc before u ran OA that first time? I'd suggest running steam as an administrator, verifying the cache of both arma 2 and OA, then run arma 2, close it, run OA, close it. Then install and run Six Launcher, let it update to beta and install the mod for you. Find a server in six launcher and hit join.

Thats usually an error given when steam ISNT run as an administrator.

I got OF to work after closing steam in my processes and opening it as administrator but now whenever I try to join it says some content has been deleted.chenarus (something) :/ even though the launch option is set to -mod=@DayZ -nosplash

Sounds like your steam version is corrupted:

Launch steam, click on library, look for your arma 2 game. Right click it, go to properties, local files tab, click on 'VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE...' then 'DEFRAGMENT CACHE FILES'. Then try launch the game by steam. After this see if the servers let you in :). If they don't then your CD key is probably not on the gamespy system or has been removed.
