Need help getting DayZ up and running!!! Commander not working

I just bought and installed Arma 2 combined operations from steam. I've installed this. I read that commander was better than 6 updater so I downloaded it and installed it. When I try to run it however it says that the program stopped working. I'm running win 7 64 bit. I don't know how to fix this please help if you can offer advice.

(oh yea and yes I ran Arma 2 and operation arrowhead before attempting to run commander)

I thought I did DL the newest version. I got it from the commander website where it says "get commander now" (or some such DL button type)

Try: If you have not, in Steam right click on you Arma II go to local files and verify integrity of game cash. Do the same for Arrowhead, start arrowhead, close it and start commander.
