Got shot, respawned with dream kit. hacker?

I just got shot a few minutes ago in the woods north of Solnichniy by someone I did not ever see (sounded like a shotgun). No problem, they got the drop on me and I paid the price, or so it would seem.

My concern is that when I respawned on the beach immediately after, I had an AS50 with 6 clips, NVG, Rangefinder, Ghille, a full tool belt, etc. Didnt check the Coyote Backpack for contents as I just wanted to get the hell off of the server but I'm going to go ahead and assume it was full of shit as well.

This is a server I play regularly but there were only 3 people on at the time other than myself.

Been playing since early may with no obvious hack encounters but this one seems to fit the bill....but I'm kinda surprised if a hacker would hang out on a server with so few people.

Anyhow, just looking for sugestions, what now? Don't really want to run around all kitted up like this when I already have legitimate gear inland. Should I feed myself to the zeds?

Probably a hacker or a bug, I think you spawn with those in Arma 2 / OA. Most likely a bug if you know those people that were on the server.

Note that gear that is legit in DayZ is legit period. Even if it was hacked in, as long as you didn't hack it, you're good. So.....congratulations are in order I suppose...you bastard :D

Sure, but I just died tonight after 28 days surviving, and I was really enjoying the starting over again. I dont want easy gear. The best part of the game is finding it, not waking up with it. I have all this same gear inland and all I have to do is walk to get it. Without some kind of challenge what is the point?

EDIT: Done deal....I fed myself to the pack.

Back to starting gear for me....

I hear you, it's kind of lame if you like the challenge and whatnot. Tell you what though, you want to get rid of that stuff, let me know. I'm working with a group that helps out medics and new players with supplies (no bullshit it's called Freeloaders) and that pack would come in handy. So, if you're willing to help a brother out, let me know.

Sounds like the exact same gear the script kiddie that plagues my server has. He just teleports behind you a shoots you in the head the repeats it when you spawn on the beach lol. I'm guessing like the guy you encountered they used their uber hacking skills to copy and paste the scripts off a hacker forum.

Srry man too late, just fed myself to the zeds and respawned in Electro with a regular starting kit. However, I have to admit this whole medic movement is really appealing to me. I remember way back when Return to Castle Wolfenstein came out I was one helluva determined medic and it's been my class of choice ever since. You should shoot me a PM. Given the lack of endgame, I think it might add a purpose to the game which really does not exist for me at this point...
