Bell noises, what do they mean?

They happen every 15 minutes, and correspond to the time in game.

where do people come up with this stuff? I swear I could tell people there is a magic pony with NVG's that lives near Stary Sobor and they would sure enough search for it.

Heh, seems like they can be heard from about 17 miles away (the map is only 15 miles tall).
