johnnylamerton (DayZ) 2 Posted July 29, 2012 So I read that the nerfing wasn't Rocket's doing. I think the company as a whole can use a little better communication system. This impact is amplified by the fact that zombies apparently have the best ears ever. I have seen the threads about both issues, one turned into a debate on the winchester rather than staying on topic, but I don't think they have been addressed at the same time. At this point, you are better off using a two shot hatchet, than any of the low end pistols. Hell, a crowbar might even be better. And the zombies that agro in town when a shot is fired is overwhelming. Starting out with a low end nerfed weapon, and having to fend off wave after wave of zombies is beyond difficult. Yes, I understand that if I don't shoot, I don't have to worry about the waves of zombies, but it's not always possible to completely sneak through a town. octopos 26 Posted July 29, 2012 (edited) Shoot an infected isn't a big problem right now. The real problem is kill someone with ANY pistol.Edited =] Edited July 29, 2012 by octopos

vanchrian 2 Posted July 29, 2012 So how many Body shots does the revolver require to kill a zombie?I read many comments on the Revolver and M1911 requiring 4 shots, but can't seem to find anything about the Makarov.
jubeidok 495 Posted July 29, 2012 Aim for the head, stop panicking and every weapon is a 1 shot kill. If I had it my way the head shot would be the only way to kill them. =PSissies.

Dingus (DayZ) 429 Posted July 29, 2012 Oops, I meant Makarov. How many body shots does the Makarov require?Like... eight. Seriously. It can still one hit kill with a headshot though. Revolver/1911 is like 3-5-ish. I know people like to go "hurr durr just headshot all zomberz," but whatever.

We ended up blowing almost all of our M1911 ammo.I considered swapping my M1911 for a Makarov so that there's more ammo to go around, but since it takes an entire clip to down one zombie, I think we'll just try to conserve ammo. Mooseocalypse 59 Posted July 29, 2012 In real world a .45 can penetrate almost all class of ballistic vest. And even if you are wearing a proper one, a single shoot can smash all of your rips and make you shtt blood for weeks.Wow, just stop right there, Mr. Internet know it all. .45 is STOPPED by nearly all class of ballistic vest. Pistol rounds of almost all calibers are stopped by vests. An it's not going to "smash all your ribs" for gods sake. Stop talking if you don't know what you're talking about.
