New character same equipment??

I was going to let my brother try DayZ by just making a new char so he could start from scratch.

However, when he spawned, he spawned into the exact location as my char and with all my gear. I am not sure if this is a glitch or if somehow chars all share equipment, can anyone advise on this?

I did not let him play since I wasn't sure if his eventual death would ruin my character as well.

If he played on the same computer as you, with the same game copy installed, then he just used your character, because characters are linked to GUID which is shared for all profiles inside the ArmA 2.

I would say more - you need a seperate game copy for him. :)

You can backup the steam installs and move them to another PC to install them on there.

It needs to be a different CD key though or else it will still be your characters.

I have a 4MB line for my computer (not shared), none of their servers will give me more than 350KB/s of download though.

Suckage on having to buy another copy, guess he won't be trying DayZ then.

With my Uverse package I often get 900k+ download speeds. My Uverse package isn't even the top end package either. Let's not blame steam for something that is clearly your isp's fault.
